Sunsets

No two sunsets are the same. Even with each passing minute, a sunset changes. We as individuals are unique, down to our genetic make up. Our time on this Earth is numbered and one day, our time will end. As the sun sets on one's life, may we who continue to live, be reminded of all the beautiful souls that made their mark on this earth through the sunsets, as beautiful and as unique as each one is. 


Let us be reminded that how we feel about life is not the same everyday. Some days are cloudy and the sunset isn't always as promising. Some days are sunny, and the sunset is expected to be epic. And on some days, the clouds just part enough to let you see the yellow-red-orange rays of the sun peeking through one last time before the day turns into night. And so on days when it feels like your breath has been sucked out of you and all is gone, look at that small ray of sunshine peeking through the clouds and hold on to it. That is hope. That is a promise that beyond the storm awaits sunshine. Hold on to that hope for dear life and pray for the clouds to part to give you brighter days and clear sunsets. In the meantime, embrace the storm and let the rain cleanse and water you for growth. 



May all who have gone before us rest in God's eternal love and peace. May hope be restored in us who continue to live and may each sunset remind us of their beautiful souls.

Holiday KTV

"....Knock three times on the ceiling if you want me, oh, twice on the pipe, if the answer is no."  Remember that song that's always sung in karaoke bars everywhere? Well, it was sung beautifully last night yet again at the famous Taiwan Holiday KTV. This is something I've done a few times here in Taiwan that's easily become one of my top 10 must do in Taiwan. Yes, you can sing karaoke almost anywhere in the world, but what makes the Taiwan experience slightly different. So here's how it goes. KTV is a little different from most karaoke nights in the bars in the US. 1 Week Before Christmas

It's one week before Christmas and just when I was being selfish and thinking of all that I will be missing out on during the holidays season with my family and my local church, I failed to realize that there are others who are not even capable of thinking about Christmas because of their day-to-day problems. After what started off as a well-planned weekend that was supposed to be fun-filled, I heard news from home about someone very near and dear to my heart that just made my heart sink to places I had not imagined possible. I wish I was elsewhere right now, preferably home. I feel for he who feels that he has no one who cares about his well-being. I am caught between a rock and a hard place not knowing what to do. If I say something, I feel like I would be too forth-coming, if I don't say anything, I risk something worse happening. I think I will say something to the right people and hopefully help somehow. Over the past weekend

 This is what a rainy day looks like on my campus.  That's in front of my building looking into the track.  This is our little cafe on the first floor of my college.  College of Social Science. I was gonna take a picture of this spaghetti they sell in a hot dog bun. LoL.  This is one of my favorite places in Taipei. Alleycat's.  They serve great pizzas, draft beer, and calzones. Pictured below is beer and pizza from there.   This is my French friend Jerome who went to the movies with me where we watched The Lady. He's not high I promise, he just reacted to the flash of my camera.  We had a farewell dinner for one of our Palauan friends.  This is what a meal looks like when ordered in most places in Taiwan.
